Torrington Savings Bank has announced a $150,000 donation to the Torrington Library. This donation is for the recently named Torrington Savings Bank Community Room. This expansive, new gathering space was created during the latest renovation of the library which was completed in 2016. This gift aligns with the Bank’s commitment to community and provides a valuable benefit to all.
The Torrington Library encourages public use of meeting rooms as gathering places to exchange ideas, access and share information and participate in programs created for public enjoyment, public education and civic engagement.
John E. Janco, President and CEO of Torrington Savings Bank stated, “As Torrington Savings Bank recognizes its 150th anniversary in 2018, it is our privilege to be donating to one of the cornerstones in our community. The Torrington Library is a place where the community can truly come together.”
Jessica Gueniat, Library Director, said “We are honored to receive the Torrington Saving’s Bank donation, especially as TSB celebrates a landmark 150 years of service to the community. TSB truly understands the importance of supporting local organizations and has always been a generous benefactor of the library. We couldn’t be more pleased with this continued partnership and on behalf of the library Trustees, Corporators, and Staff, we thank the Torrington Savings Bank for their commitment to the library and the community.”
